It's been a while...

Hi guys!!!
I know it's been a while, so I wanted to hop on here and talk about a few goodies I've got lately. :-)

First off, if you follow me on instagram (lrzuber09), you would have see this:

I purchased these about a month ago. I absolutely LOVE Sigma's brushes. I'd really like to get the Synthetic Essential collection and then I might be set for a while. :-) I was beyond shocked how pigmented the Paris palette is. It's not an every day (at least for me) palette but it's nice for special occasions.
Today I applied Versailles all over my lid/brow bone area, very lightly with E55 the and then used my Sigma E15 to line my bottom and top lash lines with Louvre. It's a simple look using a bold color that won't get TOO noticed. ;-)
The Sigma MAXBag is HUGE!!! It'll be great for my personal travel.
I'll admit, Sigma brushes ARE NOT MAC brushes, however, they have some that are very similar and some that preform the same tasks as some MAC brushes, with great quality and a great price. Some are true duds, but some are pure perfection!

I also purchase the new NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. I was at Sephora and kindly asked the girl which shade she thought I should get. She had me take a seat and swatched Finland and Alaska on me. Alaska would work if I had a LITTLE more color, but Finland blended right in. I'm so sad about that though. That means anyone lighter than me will have to skip this product. :( I really love it. I'm in love with Origins VitaZing (picked up a back up with my NARS) but some days I want a TAD more coverage. The NARS is great at that and then I usually top if off with NARS Loose Powder in Flesh.
Yes, I'm very weird about that stuff.... I like to stick brands together.

I think the next few things on my wishlist will be the MAC Electric Cool Shadows. It's very tempting to get them all, but I know a few of the colors won't get the love they deserve.
I am also dying for the new UrbanDecay Smoky palette and then they just released their Naked Skin Foundation with the Optical Blurring Brush. Eep!!!

I should also mentioned I ordered the 3 Sugarpill Cosmetics palettes with Bulletproof Eyeshadow.  I.CAN'T.WAIT!!! So not my normal thing but this shadows I've heard great things about and I've been wanting them for a while.

It's been a really good spring/summer for me. I've had 2 weddings, including 2 trials and 1 lesson. It was a great experience. I was a little nervous for the first wedding, but once I started, it all just fell into place. I was booked to do the bride, her mom and her future sister-in-law's eyes. However, after I started on the bride, her sister wanted her makeup done as well! And then her future sister-in-law wanted her whole face done, and then 2 more bridesmaid's wanted their makeup done! Thankfully I had no plans for the day and easily made them all more beautiful!

The second wedding was a bit less stressful. ;-) I did the bride's makeup and her maid of honor as she rarely wears eye makeup. Beautiful girls to work with. The maid of honor is getting married this October and I think she'll book me then too. Actually her friend's mom's already enquired about it. ;-)

Well, I think that's all I have for today!

Thanks!!!

Gravatar!!!

Okay, so maybe I was living in the stone age, but I just found out about Gravatar. It stands for globally recognized avatar.

Have you ever left a comment on Temptalia or MakeupGeek? There's no place to log in... yet some people have their own images instead of the flower (on Temptalia) or face (on MakeupGeek). I had ZERO idea how they got their images on there. That is, until a few days ago. I was leaving a comment on SOME website (I don't even remember what one) and it mentioned signing in with WordPress. Well I have a WordPress account (which I need to move my blog over too, but I can't justify paying the self-hosting fees at the moment), so I decided to log in. It took me to the WP site and said something about setting up your avatar, which eventually lead me to Gravatar! It might be a minor thing to some, but I just LOVE avatars. I think you can remember someone based on a picture, easier than a name (sometimes).

So, check it out if you want! I only wish they were supported on Blogger, but not yet anyways.
Now, when visiting the sites, I just have to be sure to put in my email (the same one I signed up for Gravatar with) and voila, there's my image!

6.5.09 - A bit of rambling...

Hum, so this entire week, I've worn practically the bare minimum (in my book) for make-up. I've been working ten hour days and just wanting to relax a bit.

This weeks routine (Friday was changed up a bit):
MAC Mineralized SatinFinish Liquid Foundation - NC25
-I apply this with my 190 and blend with a damp BeautyBlender, LOVE IT! I also do my Studio Sculpt the same way (PS> I failed to clean my 190 so I left this out for Friday)
MAC Studio Finish Concealer - NC20
-Just where I needed it
MAC Mineralized SkinFinish/Natural - Medium
-I used my 181
MAC MSF - Petticoat
-Using my 181 again, mostly on apples of cheeks with a bit on the E/3
MAC Penultimate - Rapid Black
-Top most days, with little to no under eyes
MAC Brow Pencil - Lingering
-LOVE this right now, though I wish it was a teeny bit lighter but would Fling be TOO light???
BE Brow Gel
-This is getting nasty, I need a new BG...
Mascara
-Whatever one I grabbed :-)

On to other thoughts...
My FaceBook Profile tells me, "We're getting married in 8 days"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sadly Weather Channel is predicting rain... and it's planned to be outside. Some rain is fine, but really, I don't want mud on my dress!

The MAC Friends & Family sale is rumored to be June 10-14... I guess I will be over-nighting some things. :) Might be a good time to pick up some Brow Gel and try Fling. Small order, I promise.

I placed a BeautyChoice.com order... and was hoping it'd arrive this weekend, which it will not, but I pray it's here before I leave on my Honeymoon Sunday the 14th. I ordered a 1" Enzo Milano and a Pink GHD... I called and they said they sent their Enzo's back as the barrels were scratched up and their GHD's were to be in Thursday. I'm not happy so far.

I ordered a swimsuit. :-) I don't know that we'll visit the pool. (Depends on pool traffic.) But it's cute none the less.

Welp, I think that's all I have to ramble about, for now. I hope I can catch up next week. I'm going to dinner with some girlfriends and our mom, Saturday, so maybe I will look super cute and have time for pictures!!! Next Friday is the rehearsal, so I hope to take some pictures then, too. And at least we'll have a pro photog there Saturday to capture the good photos! Hum, I really need to practice those false lashes, too!!!

1.3.08 - We're gonna play Guitar Hero...

I'm double posting this (a.k.a. it will be on my other blog, too) since it pertains to both...

What started out as an evening to play Guitar Hero, yes GUITAR HERO, with the girls... took a turn... a turn that was GREAT!!!

My friend Sarah (Lilo) had needed a few things at Wal-Mart and what-not so her, Kara (Lila) and I went mini-shopping. HAHA. We went to Maurices where we all bought something, went to Bath & Body Works where I bought Brad (Mr. L) some body wash, ate at Steak & Shake, got some crap at Wal-Mart... and that's when it began...

I had thought about getting Guitar Hero: World Tour for a while now. More songs, new format, etc. Well, Sarah saw it and thought she might want it because she has an XBOX360 and would like to play when she gets married and moves away from us to where her fiancé lives. After debate, going to GameStop and convincing Justin (Stitch) it was a good idea, she bought the Dual Guitar Pack that had 2 Wireless GH Guitar Controllers & the Game, for $120. YIPPIE!!!

I had prior plans to eat dinner with Brad's family, for our birthdays, so I left the girls and headed home. Sarah's cousin Melissa (Layla) was due to be down, so they all got to create their characters and what-not while I was with Brad's family. I left around 8 and let them know, so they could come out.

Upon arrival, I was told I had to give Melissa a mini-tour of the house, including the "make-up room"... it's the computer room, dang-it! LOL, OMG, Melissa FELL IN LOVE!!! I was so ecstatic because it's just wonderful to finally 'meet' (I've known her but we haven't hung out all that much) someone that just LOVES make-up, like I do! Unfortunately, she's married and her husband does not approve of said obsession. I have A LOT, I admit it, but I swear, I'm really going to work on getting it under control. Will I ever stop, completely, buying make-up... NO, I can't, stuff does need replaced and I love wearing it, doing it, washing it off, creating it, buying it, organizing it, etc... I can't stop, but I can cut back, I can limit myself, etc. I'm proud to say I only own 2 blue and 1 green eyeshadows from MAC. Most are shades of white, purple & black. I told myself, upon getting obsessed with MAC, I was only going to buy what I would wear, and I feel I've done very good to do so. Most of my glosses & lippies are shades of light pink (yes you CAN have a dozen+ different shades of light pink!).

ANYWAYS, Sarah wanted me to do her hair since they were going preliminary wedding dress shopping the next day... so she was off to wash her hair. In the mean time, Kara wanted PINK eyes like her Rock Band Character. I tried, I really tried!

BE Bahamas (Brow Bone)
BE Flirtatious (Lid and Under Lower Lashes)
BE Hope (Crease)
BE Soft Black (Dry on Upper and Lower Lash Lines)
BE Pink Ice Blush
MAC Girl About Town Lipstick
MAC Pink Manish Lipglass

For someone who never wears make-up, she was brave enough to wear the Pink lipstick & lipglass... I LOVE IT!!!

Kara was playing with my Shadesticks and decided to try to swatch them all... LOL. I have no idea which is which!

After said funness, Sarah wanted to look at my stash for possible wedding eye make-up. She had previously applied some foundation, blush, lipgloss, eyeliner & mascara. I had curled her hair and she was thinking a similar style with the sides pulled back.

BE Queen Phyliss (Brow Bone)
BE Bubbly (Lid & Inner 2/3 of Lower Lash Line)
BE Twig (Crease & Outer 1/3 of Lower Lash Line)
BE Retro (Upper Lash Line)(She had on Black liner, so it looks a tad funny, but we think a thin line of this would do)

12.22.08 - MUFE

I used my $15 g/c and got the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation & Powder... I got the foundation in 118, sight unseen and from what I can tell, it's going to be too dark. :o( I think I might have to exchange it for 120 (yes, higher number but appears lighter). I will try it out and go from there. Hopefully I will get to STL for my birthday (to get MAC's Blonde Collection) and I can test the foundation's in store and get a, hopefully, good match. Apparently you can order samples from the MUFE Headquaters, but I didn't know until now. If I can't get to Sephora, that's what I'll have to do, and I'd like to try their green primer, too. :o) From what I read online, Sephora's return policy is 60 days, so that's good!

If that stupid Sephora at JCP, by the Indy David's Bridal we went to, had MUFE, I wouldn't have been in this pickle...

*Edited to add...*

Woah, hold on donkey...

Exchanges
Please note that we do not offer exchanges for returned products at this time.

WHAT?! Oh, this is not gonna be good... I used a code for 15% off, plus a $15 g/c that you had to spend $35+ on (the powder was $30, foundation $40) so I bet I'm gonna end up owing them something.... GURRRRRRRRR... I will NOT be a happy customer!

12.18.08 - An eventful night...

Kinda. No make-up here, cept the small traces of Rare Minerals from this morning, some cream shadow, brow powder, cream liner & mascara. ((PS> Totally gonna have to get MAC Prep + Prime Lash, Pursebuzz used it before Diorshow Iconic and WOW... so I tried Clinique's (just an old dbl ended tube I had) and it really helped!))

I've been riding with my fiancé's mom, to work, and this week his little brother joined us since he's home from college, on winter break. Linda arrives maybe 5 minutes before normal and it's raining a bit, roads seem fine, just driving a little slower than normal. Brad texts me right as we're coming around the curve before where I went into the ditch last March. I text him back and as Linda's getting into the brand new turn lane... we start fish tailing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, I was a tad freaked, and thank god no one was behind us or coming for a little while. There's no way they salted the damn turn lane! It would have NOT been good if we got off the road by the turn lane because there's no guard rail and it's a steep ditch, with a culvert in it. Yea, so that sucked...

Then I get to work, all seems fine... check my email, etc... proceed to my blog to look at some pictures... my YT vid's aren't showing up! What the heck?! So I go to YT, maybe the site is down... no, I don't think it's down...

What the heck?!?!?! Gurrrrrrrr.......................................... Man I hope the night goes fast.
I understand, but it makes me so mad because work's internet is about 4 times as fast as ours and we simply can't get anything better, for our area. Even Verizon's reg DSL would be 4x better, and CHEAPER, but they don't have it for our area. Boooo.
And this is why I don't watch video's at home, on the weekends... they usually barely load at a decent pace that I can continuously watch them and sometimes they have to pause and load a bit. Oh, I hope this is temporary....

12.2.08 - E Pics

I got the proofs, they should be online in a few days... 41 pics, and a few decent ones, LOL. Most of them I'm super squinting (I didn't know I was doing that!) or Brad doesn't even look like he's smiling! *Sigh* Boys...

$15 off $35+ at Sephora...

So I totally don't need anything, right? However, I finally think of something to get... Make Up For Ever HD High Definition Powder Kit ($69 Value) , but it's sold out, online, and the nearest Sephora is 3 hours away... *sigh* Think I can talk Brad into it??? I should call and see if they have it... he'd be happy because we could go to the hobby store and get him some fuel for his lil' truck (http://lilshinigami.blogspot.com/2008/12/look-at-mr-ls-trucky-wucky.html)... Hum... heck, I don't even know how much it is, and I'm sure I'd then want the foundation... :o|

11.11.08 - I'm hiding...

Yep, I'm hiding for a while because I have vowed to not wear face make-up until Saturday. Why, you ask? Well, for one, this week I'm going to 4 10 hour days, which means 2 less hours in the day for me to sleep, watch tv, relax and get ready for bed & work. LOL. Also, my poor face... I picked a bad time to try a new foundation, a MAC one, none the less, so I don't know if my blemishes are from the foundation or 'that time of the season'. Yes, season, 4 times a year, it's great. :o) It is most likely a combo of both. They aren't that bad, mostly because I catch them and pick them before they form a white dot, LOL, but then they are just red spots. Hopefully my new Make Up For Ever Palette will get here so and I can try the green concealer on them. :o) So it's just brows, eye liner, mascara and a bit of eyeshadow for me.

I have a wedding to go to on Saturday, so I want it to clear up a bit. I'm excited to see what my face will turn out like. I haven't decided on a shadow color b/c there's really nothing I have to match my shirt, so it'll be a mixing process. Maybe I'll have time to do a video. Hopefully. I'm doing browns with a teal/aqua/light blue shadow. MAC Shimmermint S/S, BE Pond, BE Freedom, MAC Blue Brown & MAC Teal, somewhere in those colors is the color of my top. Maybe I'll post a pic of it, hehe.

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

You know what I hate...

I hate when you try to do eye make-up after your wax your brows... nothing hardly sticks there, and 12+ hours later, they are still a bit red. So, no pictures of my quick look today. I used UD's Ammo Shadow Box Palette. I love it. :o) I'm rather sad there aren't very many colors I'd truly wear, in the Book of Shadows Palette. I want so much from the Sephora F&F Sale, that I'm on the fence with it. I guess it depends on what my fiancé says my budget is! I'd like some matching liners to go with my MAC Pearlglides's for my waterline (as they are not w/l safe) but I'm having trouble deciding go with MUFE or UD... hum...

Update...

In case you've been wondering, why I disappeared off the map... DF and I went to St. Louis on the 17th and last week I worked day shift, so I was entirely exhausted and even fell asleep at 7pm a few days! I'm not sure how normal this week is going to be because DF is laid off work for a week. They are SUPER slow, so they laid the entire plant (minus salary employees) this week and the last 2 weeks of Nov. This week he doesn't get to collect unemployment, but the next 2, he will. It won't be much, but some is better than none.

I really miss "me" time. I wish I had more time to record vid's and take pics and what-not. I have a few vid's on my pc, but I have yet to edit them, because I just can't seem to find the time. DF seems to get mad if I'm on the PC too long. Too bad I couldn't do them at work, hehe.

I used to be able to just tell him to go play Halo for a while, but he hasn't been into it lately. I think he got frustrated at our internet (claims it's too slow, but there's really no other options for us) and gave up. It's now deer season, but he doesn't like going during the week. I can't send him off to play Halo anymore, anyways... Friday, he was going to play that or GUN, but our poor XBOX showed 3 flashing quarters. AHHHH!!! I was on the phone to XBOX FOREVER! I could barely understand the guy and I was trying to update our address, as I had moved since I bought it, but it wouldn't take our address. We have so many friggin problems with our address. Our street can be spelt plenty of ways, and then all of our town has P.O. Boxes, so it shows our zip code as the post office and UPS/FedEx/DHL won't ship to the Post Office, yadda, yadda, PITA! I told him to forget about it because my parents live at the old address, I can pick up crap from there. Then I had to update my email... I had to say everything like "A as in Apple" "B as in Brandon" "C as in Cat" "D as in Dog" "N as in..................Norman?" LOL, but we got that taken care of. My XBOX (mfg date 12-06-2005) was out of warranty, but they'll fix it for free (or send us a new one) b/c of the 3 red quarters. I hate when the automated thing says "try all these troubleshooting things" and then the idiot guy asks me to do them again. I tried everything, just fix the durn thing, already. So they are supposed to send us a UPS PrePaid label, then I have to pack it up good, give it to my mom, so the UPS guy that stops by her work can pick it up, be without it for 2-3 weeks, and then it will be delivered to my parents house, which I have to then pick it up. Gurrr... OH!!!! And to make things better... I have a 20GB HD for it, so my friend, Sarah, brought over her 360, and we were gonna play RockBand2. Well, when I got RB2, I was able to transfer the org. RB songs (or most of them) to my HD buy purchasing a license... THEY WEREN'T ON THE HD!!! So, when I get my XBOX back, I apparently have to repurchase the license (400 XBOX pts ~$5). What a crock! The license must be saved to my XBOX not the HD. Gurrrr!!!!
