6.28.09 - One giant Haul post

So, rather than wasting multiple posts, I'm going to sum this up all in one.

On 6.4.09 I placed an order with BeautyChoice.com. A few hours later I checked my order status, and to my surprise, BACKORDERED. I called the available number on their website, during hours and talked to a lady... who seems to be the only worker. Anyways she told me the GHD's were supposed to be in that day, but they hadn't received them, and the Enzo's were all scratched up upon arrival, but they were expecting them in the next week. I waited a few days to call back (they have odd hours for us CST'ers) and was pretty much told the same thing. Since I had used a promo code to get a free hairdryer with my GHD, ordered the Enzo bundle with hairspray and also some crane clips, she said they would ship out what was available (dryer, hairspray & clips), and ship the rest when it came in. It was shipped later in the week, and according to the tracking number, delivered the 15th. I was gone on my honeymoon the 14th-19th, so I made no contact with them that whole week. The box with the dryer, hairspray & clips was in my mailbox on the 20th. On the 22nd, as soon as they opened, I called and asked why I hadn't received my flat iron or curling iron but had been charged for them on the 11th! Okay, so I understand, sh*t happens and you can't always get stuff to people on time, but how dare you charge me! I was just getting frustrated at this point. I kindly told the lady that and that I had placed the order on the 4th and it was now the 22nd with a $332 charge on my credit card! I told her if I didn't receive the items by Saturday (the 27th) I'd have no choice but to cancel the order and order from elsewhere. They arrived the 24th. Lame, seriously... lame.

To sum it up, love the items & the price, but unless you are prepared to wait a month, for popular items, don't order. Oh yea, and then I see this week they have 20% off. Nice.

If Sephora is out of stock, they don't sell it to you! If Victoria's Secret is on backorder, they show you the date it will be available. Oh, and they immediately (without you asking) ship the in stock items and only charge you for those.

BeautyChoice.com, please get up to date and improve your customer service. Oh and hire some more phone answerers, because you obviously need it.

6.25.09 - Hair... again

So... I'm starting to get used to the blonde... but oh the maintenance ahead. Going dark was awesome, dye late Jan, by May it had faded to, close-enough-to-not-see-noticeable-roots, my natural color. I'm wondering if I should just skip the $100 highlights and opt to a home-dye every month or so... I could either get stuff from Sally's or Wal-Mart. I'm mostly hesitant about picking a color, and also, since I am good friends with my stylist, I don't want to upset her, but I just think it'd be so much easier to do it on my own... Then there's that nice rainbow I get with my natural and two colors of highlights... *sigh*...

Opinions?

6.9.09 - The Hair

So yea, I'm never happy with my hair. While I LOVE it long, sometimes it's just hot. Lately it just goes up into a pony. After seeing Jen (Cibu17 via YouTube) and all her "Hair 'do of the Day"'s, I'm entirely tempted to cut mine. After the wedding, of course.

Today I am going blonde. I've always (for the most part) been blonde and it just goes with the whole black & white theme of our wedding. Light-Medium Blonde it shall be.

These pictures are of Randi Evans, who is in the Top 20 of the current season (5, I believe) of So You Think You Can Dance. Maybe a slight bit longer for me, and it will be about the same color...

5.7.09 - Plugged-In Pink Mini Diamond Flat Iron: A Review

I picked this up from Sally's Online, a couple weeks go, when they emailed me an offer to get it for $10! I had to pay about $7 for shipping, but what-the-hey, I figured I'd try it, along with these.

It's a tiny little guy, that's for sure! It just has an on/off switch and no swivel cord, but I find it heats up fast, gets hot and does the job I figured it would do. Now, my hair isn't super curly, coarse or thick, but I do have quite a bit of it. On "easy" days I like to dry my hair with a vent brush and blow dryer and sleep on it, get up, flat-iron. I don't curl it under or flip it out, when it's this length, but I am certain that could be done with this 'lil booger. I tried it out, with success, upon arrival.

Today, I was uber-lazy and quickly dried my hair before bed with plans to get up and flat iron. Well, time escaped me, okay, so I was too lazy to get out of bed. I packed this up with a couple combs, a clip, scrunchie and a mirror, into my lunch box, hehe. No one is at work while I am, so I popped into the bathroom and plugged it in. I let it heat up while I got my nightly mug of water. I got back a couple minutes later and started my hair. It does take smaller sections, hello, the plate is A LOT smaller, but don't take too small, especially with fine hair or it might pull, even though I'm not sure where it gets caught up. Anyways, it took me dead-on, 20 minutes. I swear, it takes that long with my 1" CHI. Heck, it takes me 20 minutes to blow out my hair with a round brush, almost that long with a vent brush. Even my make-up takes 20 minutes!

So yea, this is FOR SURE going in my bag for my Honeymoon in Vegas! 5 Weeks! Eek! I really ought to start a list of what to pack... but hair tools will only include this and my 1 1/4" curling iron. :o) Thank heavens for Hotels having Hair Dryers! At least the Hotel better have one!!! I know they used to and it was a pretty good one, but I read that from a post a couple of years ago. Anyone know if the MGM Signature still have Hair Dryers in the rooms????

4.3.09 - Have I ever mentioned...

How much I HATE my hair?!
Not so much the color right now, but I just don't know what to do with it. I wish it were longer, for one. ((And I love it long, so please keep reminding me that when I say I want to chop it off this summer...))

I have a style in mind, but after loads of looking on the net, I can't find a picture to represent it...

I have a color in mind... probably back to a light/medium blonde as it was last summer.

If I find a picture, I'll let you know.

Update: I keep going back to pictures of Carrie Underwood... What do you think?

11.22.08 - Engagement Photos

We finally had them done, even though we've been engaged for over a year, LOL. We had orginaly planned to have family photos for Brad's side, but a few certain family members were acting childish (a 30 y.o. and his 24 y.o. wife) so we just had engagement photos done. I was happy to find out our setting fee was including with our wedding photos, so we didn't owe a dime today, yippie!!!

These photos were taken 6 hours after I did my make-up, because immediately after our e-pics we ate dinner with our mom's, visited my parents for a while & then visited Brad's parents.

11.21.08 - Fine...

Sans makeup, with glasses...

(My hair fell at that part, but the bangs were cut to be over further, that's why they look a lil funny... I didn't fell like messing with them. I'm going to bed, lol.)

11.12.08 - New Hair

After 15 weeks without new highlights, my roots were BAD!!! So, I got my hair highlighted and cut today. I went a tad darker, and, and, and... I now have BANGS! I haven't had BANGS for years!!!

So this was my inspiration:


Now, I don't have any pics. I told her to not curl it since I was just going home and going to bed, so she just dried it and it looked kinda funny. I'll play with it Friday and take pics. :o)

My hair isn't that long (plus she has extensions) and my bangs are a bit shorter... shorter than I would have liked, but oh well, they'll grow back. :o) They aren't too bad, probably a bit past the tip of my nose, so, ya. I just have to learn how to style them. :o

FYI, I got my 1st Sephora order today... I will hopefully get the 2nd tomorrow then I can take some pics to post and do a Haul video, yippie!
